TSM-Stop Motion Artist

KINA GRANNIS AND THE 288,000 JELLY BEANS

Kina Grannis is not directly a stop motion artist she actually is a musician but found this stop motion music video very creative. The main intention behind the creation of this music video was to be an art piece in itself that is fun and creative for her audience. From start to finish, the video features dozens of moving scenes made entirely of jelly beans. Kina Grannis and music video director Greg Jardin the idea was inspired by jelly bean art, which replicates famous photographs and paintings using nothing but Jelly Belly candies. The team created frame after frame and shot them in what is essentially a stop-motion music video. During each frame Kina would lay on the sheet of glass above the set scene made by the jelly beans. In order to change each scene a projection would be set on the table and individuals would place the jelly beans into place. The entire process took more than a year to complete, but the result is the music video you see above. The process of this project is also spoken about through this link below on how the music video was made.
