2020 P5.JS critique notes
The p5.js project was probably the most challenging assignment for me in the Graphic Design class so far. The concepts of the using symbols, if and else statements, and appyling elements such as mouseX and mouseY were very confusing to me. I had a really hard time understanding how to apply these functions to my p5.js drawing. I wanted to make sure that I had a strong foundation of building up a color palette and design that would be interesting. I wanted to have a 70's aesthetic so I built up a color palette that would resemble common colors that were used during that era. I am very interested in forming color palettes and the psychology of color meanings. For the critique I didn't realize that I needed to have an interactive aspect to the p5.js sketch until I turned it in. I thought that I needed to have some sort of movement within the sketch. I need to incorporate this element within my next project and to develope a stronger idea behind the use and purpose behind my sketch. One of the things that I noticed from having the critique my classmates liked the little jagged edges that were created from the loop motion of the circles. They also seemed to like my color palette and that fact that the drawing looped and it looked like the circles continuously stacked on each other as the drawing looped. This assignment that was used as a base to help me build for my next project and I am going to continue to learn and build upon to create a more well rounded piece.
