2020 Hello World! Processing
Hello World! Processing was a very interesting documentary to watch as someone who is new to code. It went into the very basic parts to the development of code, the beginning of computer, and the processes that are needed when making digital art. For someone who hasn't had much experience with coding the video was very accessible to people like me who only may know a surface level amount of how code. As someone who is just starting to learn how to code I noticed that I get very frustrated easily I don't know exactly how to create things or my ideas don't always translate from my mind to the the computer the way that I want them to. For me that has been my biggest challenges from taking my graphic design class is having to learn a whole new art form. I have come to recognize that I have a love-hate relationship with it because once my code starts to fall in place I want to continue to grow and develop my new knowledge of creating this form of art. In the video it had mentioned that coding takes time, not everything can be done all at once. This just another reminder to me that I can't do it all and that like everything it is going to be a learning process.
Some of the other points that I took from listening to different people speak within the video is that you learn how to program computers by drawing, make as many drawings as you can. From those drawings you can always go back to them and develop their code even more. It also helps to look at source code because you can take certian elements from that piece and incorporate that into your own work.
