2020 interactive website critique notes
I felt very disappointed with myself with this most recent critique that I had with the interactive project that I made. I really wanted to do this project justice because of how important my family is to me and my interests in learning about cultural background and my interest into back on generations from the past. I put a lot of pressure on myself to make it look the best that I could and had really high expectations on what I thought it was supposed to look like. I felt that none of my ideas of what I wanted to portray came through and I felt that my work lacked the ability showing the story that I wanted to tell throughout this art project. My whole goal of this project was to be able to show the two cultural backgrounds of my family and how they are connected through immigrating to the United States whether that be from the Ellis Island or more recently through Brooklyn. I also wanted to show the connection of how both sides of my family have a strong connection to their faith throught the catholic church. I think that I need to improve my church and Ellis Island pages of my website to help me develop a stronger way of telling my family's story.
Notes that I can use to help me create a better interactive site:
- Include family recipes
- create better links to pages
- making the photo pages like scrapbooks
- edit words on some of the pages and their meanings
- potentially creating photo corners on the edges of the web page or images
- writing in photo albums
- more thought into the sounds and what pages they are on
- better videos for pages
