CJ Hendry

CJ Hendry

I stumbled upon this artist about a few months ago on instagram on my recommended page.  This Australian hyper-realism artist drew the attention of so many with her ability to make colored pencil look like paint swatches. I find that her website is unique compared to other artists websites that I have seen before. The first thing that drew my attention was the simplicity of the site when her drawings are so complex. There is a lack of content and color on the homepage except for the weekly wallpaper in the center of the web page. The second thing that intrigued me was that CJ Hendry put her most recent exhibition up on her page which is a virtual exhibiton. This is a unique way that allows the viewer to have an interactive experience with her artwork. The one key tool that I notice with her website is that the lack of content encourages the viewer to have to search and find more information about her and her work. Since her artwork became famous through instagram the website leads you from her instagram page where you can see more of her work. Through there you can see more of a wider range of the projects that she has completed.

Chris Burkard

Chris Burkard

Chris Burkard is a photographer that explores around the world capturing powerful photos of landscapes and the human interactions that occur in it. When clicking on the homepage of Burkard's website the screen is filled with a massive landscape picture of a snowcapped mountain with a surfer riding a wave in the forground. The viewer is immediately drawn to the raw beauty and size of the photograph. Within the website you are clearly able to find more examples of his work and the discover about the artist and his mission with his photography. The big thing that drew me to his page was the vibrancy of color scheme of the photographs on his website. The greens, blues, yellows, and oranges all stand out because of how dramatic it is against the white of the site page. The balance that the artist creates with the simple background that compliments the color filled images draws me to this artists design of his website.

Ilse CrawfordIlse Crawford

Interior designer Ilse Crawford draws me to her work because of the neatness and simplicity that is found on her website. All of the pictures that are taken of the interior spaces that she has created are all organized neatly which reflects the formulated skill of designing a space. I like the the sense of methodical organization that her website presents. I am personally drawn to simplistic design layouts rather than something that is crowded and busy. Another aspect that draws me to her website is the fonts that are used in Crawford's website title, menu, and other text that is incorporated within this artist's site. The font of title that is used has a modern element feel that fits the style of the interior spaces that Isle Crawford creates.   The letters between eachother feel tight which serves as a representation of the feelings of home and closeness that she provokes within the spaces she creates.
